Browned Butter Snickerdoodles-3

Browned Butter Snickerdoodles

Long time no see, my fellow foodies. I hope everyone has been having a great summer! I know we have! Our little one is quite active these days so, we pretty much go nonstop. Which, honestly, after last year I’m loving it. It’s been so nice to get out and enjoy our family & friends again. All the things that make a girls heart happy!

Now, that I have a little bit of a handle on life again. (Just a little though…jk. I have no handle on life.) I just really miss blogging recipes and creating content. My husband probably mentions, at least once a week, that I need to post this or that on my blog. I keep making excuses so, time to dive back in…and boy do I have a good one to kick off with.

Starting with a delicious, scrumptious, melt in your mouth…COOKIES! Snickerdoodles to be more precise. Nothing is more satisfying as a baker/cook to hand someone something you’ve made and they out loud “Moan” at how delicious something is. That is what this cookie provokes. So…ya know. Be prepared.

A snickerdoodle is delicious in it’s own right, but by browning the butter…oh sweet Jesus. Does it make a good cookie!

Don’t take my word for it though…try it! Let me know what you think.

Who doesn’t love a snickerdoodle? It’s buttery & sweet! By browning the butter it just elevates these delicious little cookies with a nutty and caramelly flavor. So. Darn. Good. Definitely a cookie recipe you want to keep on hand!

Ingredients

  • Cookie Batter
  • 2 3/4 Cups of All-Purpose Flour

  • 1 1/2 Cups of Sugar

  • 1 Cup of Browned Butter (Steps 1 for details)

  • 2 Eggs

  • 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla Extract

  • 2 Teaspoons of Cream of Tartar

  • 1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda

  • 1/4 Teaspoon of Salt

  • Topping
  • 1/2 Cup of Sugar

  • 2 Teaspoons of Cinnamon

Directions

  • Browning Butter: Place 2 sticks of butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, gently swirl the pan over the burner. Once you start smelling a nutty/carmelish flavor you’re getting close! When the butter has turned a golden brown and you see little golden brown specs floating in your pan. Take it off the burner and transfer it to a bowl to cool. (Just for about 10 minutes)
  • In a bowl or stand mixer add in the browned butter and sugar. Combine these until mixed well. Then one at a time add in the eggs. Beat the batter until it starts to turn a slight paleish yellow. (About 1-2 minutes)
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, & salt. While the mixer is on low, slowly, add in about a 1/2 cup of dry ingredients at a time. Keep doing this until everything is combined, then add in the vanilla extract and do once last mix.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the topping of sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Now, line a cookie sheet with a piece of parchment paper. Then using a small ice cream scoop or a tablespoon, scoop a spoon full of cookie batter and roll it in the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Place on the lined cookie sheet.
  • Repeat Step 5 until there is no more batter. Should make around 35-40 cookies. (Depends how much batter you eat!)
  • Now, place the cookie sheet in the freezer for one hour. This is an important step to insure the cookies bake correctly. (This is also a great make ahead dessert. I personally think the longer they stay in the freezer the better!)
  • Once the hour is up. Place a 6-9 cookies on a new parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350℉ for 15-17 minutes. Let them cool on the cookie sheet before transferring to a cooling rake or plate. Then enjoy!

I have trouble controlling myself around these cookies. Baker beware haha. If you’re trying to sabotage your arch nemesis’s diet in a way they won’t see coming, this is perfect. They will wonder why you have suddenly become so kind with a truly delicious cookie. It won’t be until later that they see the true plan, and by then it will be too late.

  2. This is one of her great cookies she makes! I can say this because I was lucky to grab one or 2 from her biggest fan “aka” her husband. Keep on making everyone smile 😃

Love me some Snickerdoodle! These are perfectly succulent. Just the right amount of sweet. Could you want more butter? Well maybe as a dip on the side. Just saying.
Figuratively I am your largest Fan!
