Charcuterie Board

Charcuterie Board

So, this isn’t exactly a recipe…but I thought it would be fun to show everyone how I assemble a Charcuterie Board.

I love making these boards. It’s fun to assemble and find specialty food items to put together and try new flavor combos. For instance, I never thought to put honey and blue cheese together. I read it somewhere (probably Pinterest) and was like we need to try this! Turns out…it’s delicious!

If we are doing an at home Date Night, this is kind of our go to “meal”. We put the baby to sleep. Grab some wine and binge watch something on Netflix or Hulu. We’re pretty into “Blacklist” here lately. Highly recommend this show!

What I put into a Charcuterie Board:

  • 2 Meats
  • 3 Cheeses
  • Nuts
  • Something Sweet (like pieces of chocolate or cookies)
  • Fruit
  • Something salty (like pickles or olives or both!)
  • Crackers/Bread

(This is enough food to make 2-3 boards if serving 2 people – so leftovers for your next Date Night)

Featured in photo:

  • 2 Meats:
    • Mild Dry Salami
    • Chorizo
  • 3 Cheeses:
    • Petite Breakfast Brie topped with Red Peppered Jelly
    • Blue Cheese topped with Raw Honey
    • Herbed Havarti
  • Nuts:
    • Pistachios
  • Something Sweet:
    • After Dinner Chocolates (found these at Fresh Market – they’re filled with orange liquor)
    • Palmier Cookies (Pastry Cookies)
  • Fruit:
    • Grapes
    • Strawberries
    • Cherries
  • Something Salty:
    • Wickles Sweet & Spicy Pickles
  • Crackers/Bread:
    • Sourdough bread slices (toasted them with some olive oil)
    • Rice Crackers

I hope you enjoyed this post. You’ll have to share with me your favorite at home Date Night favorites!

*Side Note: For whatever reason I ALWAYS mispronounce “Charcuterie”, so out of frustration I called it a “Sean Connery” Board. My husband knew exactly what I was talking about…chalk that up to a year of COVID isolation. We apparently have our own language. Can’t decide if we are super cool or the biggest weirdos alive. Stay tuned.
Anyways…we now call them “Sean Connery” Boards.

  1. Instead of dad & I being boring with some nights just eating crackers & cheese we now add the fancy olives, jelly ect… it’s also very filling. Happy you are sharing one of many talents you have.
